Psycho-Oncology
Support in the context of cancer – for those affected and their families
A cancer diagnosis changes everything.
Not just the body — the whole of life, relationships, the image of oneself.
Many people reach moments when what they have relied on is no longer enough.
That is not a weakness. Familiar inner resources simply stop working the way they used to.
Psycho-oncological support creates space for what has no other place during this time —
fear, exhaustion, anger, grief, existential questions.
It is not about coping “correctly”.
It is about finding your own, sustainable way of living with the situation.
That might mean:
- dealing with shock and uncertainty after the diagnosis
- with exhaustion and loss of control during treatment
- with physical changes and an altered sense of self
- with what the illness triggers in a partnership or family
- or with questions that cannot be answered — and are there nonetheless.
I work systemically and with a focus on resources.
That means: not deficits at the centre, but what sustains — what is still there, what has helped, what is possible.
Hypnotherapeutic elements can help access inner stability when the rational mind alone is not enough.
Psycho-oncological support is explicitly also for families and those close to the person affected.
Partners, children, close friends — they carry their own burden, one that rarely gets enough space.
This applies during the illness — and in grief afterwards.
Sessions can take place individually or together.
Fees & framework
Individual session (50 minutes): € 110
Appointments are usually available at short notice. Online sessions are possible in many cases — particularly when travelling is burdensome or more flexibility is needed.
Fees are not covered by statutory health insurance.
If your financial situation makes support difficult to access, please get in touch.
I deliberately keep capacity available for people for whom the full fee would be a barrier — at a rate that works for you.
Further information on the framework can be found here.
If you feel that support might be helpful — get in touch.
