A clear framework: one extended first session, a few follow-up appointments and your daily practice in between.
Some concerns do not need long-term therapy. They need a clear goal, a manageable period of time and the willingness to practise regularly yourself. For concerns like these I offer structured brief hypnotherapy.
We work on one theme that we agree on together in the first session. I record the trance inductions from our sessions so that you can keep working with them at home every day. There are about four weeks between appointments.
As in the rest of my hypnotherapeutic work, you stay awake, present and in control. You can read more about how I work with hypnosis on the Hypnotherapy page.
Whether the format suits your concern is something we clarify in the first session. If it turns out that longer support would make more sense, I will tell you.
We clarify your concern and agree on a goal. The session ends with a first trance, which I record for you.
Your homework: you listen to the recording every day and go through the trance at home on your own.
About four weeks apart. We look at what has changed and adjust the work. Each time you receive a new recording.
The last session is about how you continue on your own. You keep the recordings.
One session a month is not much time. Most of what is meant to change happens in between, in your everyday life.
New ways of responding become familiar through repetition. If you experience a trance every day, it becomes easier to enter that state, and the images and sensations that come up in it grow more natural over time. A single experience in the practice, by contrast, often remains an exception.
The recordings are made in your session, with your themes and your own words. They are not a general relaxation track; they are tailored to what we are working on at the time.
And from the start you are practising how to bring yourself into this state. That makes you less dependent on the practice, including after the sessions have ended. This is why daily practice is a fixed part of the format.
Each appointment is invoiced separately. How many follow-up sessions make sense depends on your concern and how things develop; we decide this together.
Sessions are paid privately. Private health insurers cover the costs depending on your policy.
Sessions take place in the practice in Eschweiler or online. Online sessions are open to people living in the EU or Switzerland. The format is not suitable for people in an acute psychotic crisis.
