Ethical Guidelines
As a member of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Systemische Therapie, Beratung und Familientherapie (DGSF) e.V., I am bound by the association’s ethical guidelines. They define what you can expect from me — and what you cannot. The following is a plain-language summary — the complete text can be found on the DGSF website.
Core Values
Every person is regarded as the expert on their own life. The aim of the work is not to provide solutions, but to expand the space in which your own decisions become possible.
Professional Competence
I only offer services for which I am demonstrably qualified. My work is regularly reviewed and developed through supervision and continuing education.
Confidentiality
Everything you share with me remains confidential — including after our work together has ended. Any exceptions are defined by law and will be communicated transparently.
Information and Informed Consent
At the outset, you will be informed about my qualifications, approach, fees, and confidentiality. Decisions about working together are yours to make, freely and without pressure.
Non-Discrimination, Non-Exploitation
The therapeutic relationship is built on trust. That trust must not be used for personal interests — neither during nor after our work together.
Work with Children and Young People
Children and young people are treated as individuals with their own rights. Parental authority and the wellbeing of the child are held in view simultaneously.
